Introduce yourselves here!
I’m Jonathan Walton. I edit this roleplaying journal called Push, which is trying to get its second issue out by GenCon. I co-organize StoryGames Boston with a bunch of other cool people. I’ve been involved in every Game Chef from 2002-2007. I used to write The Fine Art of Roleplaying for RPGnet. I’m 24yo. I graduated from Oberlin College in 2004. I lived in China for 3 years. I used to work on an alpaca farm, but now I work for a foreign policy think-tank. I play the banjo and like dancing.
I’m Mike Sands. I have a variety of half-baked games, none published yet. I have done three Game Chefs now, and hang around Story Games a lot. I’m married with a three year old daughter, who has her own set of pink dice but has yet to show any other interest in roleplaying. I also read a lot of books and watch a fair number of videos.
I’m Rich Rogers. D-Com is my first attempt at designing an RPG. I have a podcast called Canon Puncture with a couple good buddies where we discuss traditional and indie RPGs. I also play XBox 360 when I get a chance. I’m married with an 18 month old son.
I’m Jess Hammer. I’m a full-time graduate student researching the intersection of stories, games and communities - which means I do a lot of work on role-playing! - and a freelance game designer. Last year, I hit the finals in the 2006 Game Chef with my game Decade, which I’m currently play-testing and prepping for publication. I also co-wrote Everyday Heroes with Chris - he’s my favorite collaborator! When I’m not designing games or doing research, I teach game design, play bass, volunteer for a local animal rescue, and read way too many books.
I’m Chris Hall. I’m a computer programmer working for a hospital in New York City. I love to design games, and run them, but I hate being a player. Last year my first published game, Everyday Heroes, was nominated for the Ennies. My 2006 Game Chef entry, Dialectic, was almost completely incoherent, but Doloris promises to be better! I an effort to broaden my geek credentials, I volunteer as a guide at the American Museum of Natural history, play extremely long wargames, and read way too many books (but fewer than Jess).
